At age 21, Pushpa visited a women’s prison in Kathmandu and came face to face with children living alongside their incarcerated mothers. She soon started the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC), the first step in a lifelong mission to rescue Nepal’s imprisoned children.

Since then, she has founded Butterfly Home and has rescued and cared for over 500 children.
