Hello family, welcome back to another episode of "My Faith is Bigger Than My Fears" podcast.
In this episode, we explore what it means to delight in and abide with the Lord. These two powerful spiritual practices invite us into deeper relationship and dependence on God.
- To delight in the Lord means to find joy, satisfaction, and pleasure in His presence—not just seeking what He can give us, but surrendering our desires to Him and aligning our hearts with His will. Psalm 37:4 reminds us:“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
- To abide in the Lord means to remain connected, close, and dependent on Him in all areas of life. John 15:5 tells us:“He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
- Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”
James 4:13-16 NKJV
The episode also reflects on Haggai 2:15–19, where God calls His people to stop focusing on their own houses and return to building His temple. When they refocused on God’s assignment, He restored their blessings. This reminds us that when we prioritize God, He honors our obedience.
You’ll be challenged this week to slow down, not rush your time with God, and ask:
- Am I truly delighting in the Lord?
- Am I abiding in Him daily?
