  • Basajjabalaba willing to spend 2 million euros to get a heart for his mom but failed - UGX 10 billion to secure a heart transplant for his late mother, who died in Germany due to severe heart complications. I told them I can give you 1 million euros, let’s get the heart. Even 2 million euros; I told them I can double the money. The professor looked at me and said, you mean you can pay 2 million euros for your mother who is 86 years old? I said yes,” he narrated. Bassajabalaba said he later learned that organ transplants in Germany are strictly regulated and no organ can be privately purchased, regardless of financial capability. Doctors also informed him that patients above 80 years old are ineligible for heart transplants.
  • Greenhill pupil to be buried Sunday story: Unverified reports later suggested uncertainty around the burial arrangements, alleging that the hospital had withheld the body over an outstanding medical bill of Shs150 million. In a statement issued on November 14, TMR Hospital dismissed the allegations as “inaccurate" and "misleading" https://www.monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/national/greenhill-pupil-to-be-buried-sunday-as-hospital-denies-withholding-body-5265696
  • Nigeria coach blames ‘black magic’ for World Cup exit. After the match, Nigeria’s head coach, Eric Chelle, became involved in a confrontation with members of DR Congo’s coaching staff and had to be separated by officials. During his post-match news conference, The New York Times reported that Chelle questioned why journalists had not asked about the dispute. He alleged in French that DR Congo’s players engaged in “maraboutage,” a term for practices associated with marabouts in North Africa and often used to describe Maghreb folk magic. In the mixed zone afterward, he repeated the allegation in English, claiming the opposing players used voodoo during the penalty kicks.
