Ep 37 My Dad Mark - Ash Gibson

Listen Later

Ash was kept from her Father her whole life and wasn't given the truth of who he was until it was found out he had a terminal illness. He had kidney failure and was on daily dialysis with only a few months left to live when they met for the first time. The relationship was hard because she was trying to get to know her Dad knowing full well it might only be for a short time. Several months into their relationship he got the news that he was able to get a kidney transplant. Ash thought she'd get the relationship with her Father she was denied. And then he started getting sick again. Ash took him into palliative care and three days later he ended up passing away from liver cancer, he was 59 years old. Ash was his only known family member so his whole end of life care was left up to her. They only had 4 years together.
