John is the owner of the Australian footwear manufacturer Boston Shoe Company.

He’s been a frequent visitor to China since the country opened up in the early 80s, and his boss at the time was the first foreigner to have shoes made in the country since the early 20th century.

His stories of the early days doing business here are wild, including the night he got hammered with Elton John and the Watford football team in Beijing’s British Embassy.
