Ep. 397 | A Good Week for New Hanover County & Bond Markets

Listen Later

SUMMARY: After a contenious budget workshop, New Hanover County Comissioners voted 3-2 to lower the property tax rate to 30.6 cents, down from the current 45 cents, but will still be a 5% increaese in property tax bills.  It was a good week for bond rates despite a slight uptick after Israel attacked Iran Thursday night.  Two good inflation reports (CPI & PPI) and two solid bond auctions (10YR & 30Y) caused a slight bond rally this week, pushing down rates.
