Ep. 4 - Deep Blue Sea (1999)

Listen Later

Mark and Taylor dive into DEEP BLUE SEA (1999), which scored 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. Director Renny Harlin sought to reclaim the horror genre, utilizing airplane technology and LL Cool J to create a good ole fashioned shark movie. What happens when scientists inadvertently create super smart, pissed off sharks? Cinematic gold in the form of a near-perfect popcorn horror/action flick starring Samuel L. Jackson. We talk about the legacy of shark movies, the agent who didn’t want their client to play a chef, and Taylor’s irrational afraid of swimming pools.
