In this episode we investigate a seminal moment in our national history, the Black British Uprisings of 1981 and 1985, as well as Dorothy’s influence as the first Ethnic Minority and Race Relations advisor for Haringey council. We also explore Dorothy’s attack on racism in the police and national press, as part of her role on the Broadwater Farm Inquiry panel. This episode includes interviews with campaigner, former London councillor and wife of the late MP Bernie Grant, Sharon Grant, as well as colleague, MP for Islington North and former leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn.
