Babel Becomes Rubble

The protagonist, merged with the Fool, stands alongside Gilgamesh, now manifesting as the Magician, as they witness the inevitable collapse of the Tower—a symbol of pride and hubris. The scene unfolds with the ominous rumble of thunder and cracking stone as the tower, a massive ziggurat, begins to crumble under the weight of its own arrogance.

As the Tower falls, the observer feels the destruction as part of their journey—a necessary tearing down of the old to make way for the new. Lightning strikes the structure, and the storm intensifies, but instead of turning away, the observer steps forward, knowing that this collapse will pave the way for renewal. The destruction, while chaotic and devastating, symbolizes the beginning of transformation.

After the Tower’s fall, the storm begins to calm, and from the ruins, a faint glow of fire emerges—a sign of new life rising from the rubble. Gilgamesh reassures the observer that destruction is painful but necessary for growth. The observer, stronger now, realizes that while the path ahead will be difficult, they are prepared to face it.

Inanna, the High Priestess, appears in a vision, reminding the observer that patience is required after such endings. Through patience and understanding, wisdom is born, allowing the observer to walk forward into the next phase of their journey, leaving the ruins behind.

The chapter concludes with the observer moving away from the fallen Tower, knowing that the destruction has cleared the way for something greater, and their journey is far from over.
