Abbey Smith is the kind of woman you want to go to a pool party with. I don't know any other way to describe it, that's just who she is. You know she'd have the best neon suit, bring your favorite popsicles and have the perfect playlist. Abbey is a badass, queer, mother, wife, self love advocate and the lead pastor of Church in the Wild. We talk about how spiritual healthcare is not the same as mental healthcare and the ways that some churches mishandle mental health concerns while others shine. As someone who doesn't identify as a Christian, for the last decade+ I've been following Abbey on social media and listening to any interview or sermon she gave because her perspective called me in and created some of the most powerful conversations I've ever had with family and friends around faith, life, politics and love.
