勘誤：奇普的應用最早可追溯至 7-8 世紀，在當時的瓦里帝國範圍出土，與之後興盛於 15 - 16 世紀的印加帝國領土重疊,但奇普並非由印加帝國發明，亦非只由印加帝國所使用。

直至今天，在玻利維亞的一些放牧人，

依然使用奇普記錄家畜數量。
