Our planet is in a state of flux. Long-term shifts in temperature and weather patterns, a phenomenon we call climate change, are reshaping the world around us. The culprit behind this transformation? Primarily human activity. Since the pre-industrial era, the average global temperature has been on a relentless climb. The key driver of this warming trend is the relentless burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas.
These fossil fuels, the lifeblood of our industrialized world, come at a hidden cost. When burned, they release invisible pollutants called greenhouse gases, most notably carbon dioxide. Imagine these gases as a giant thermal blanket wrapped around the Earth. Their presence traps heat radiating from the sun, preventing it from escaping back into space. This trapped heat accumulates, causing a gradual but significant rise in global temperatures.
