We have a spooky episode for everyone today! We share our thoughts on the short stories in Carmen Maria Machado's captivating book "Her Body and Other Parties", which weaves horror elements together to comment on societal issues. We discuss violence against women's bodies, ghosts, dopplegangers, and Haunting of Hill House among other creepy topics. We also think we caught a ghost breathing into the mic around minute 39:50!! We chose the song "Part of Me" by Katy Perry for the intro because we think it goes well with the story "The Husband Stitch", which we talk about at length. Hope you enjoy!
