An ecologist and a rancher walk into a bar…
James Nash and Charles Post are both great friends of mine and separately I have some great talks with both of these fine gentlemen about careers, goals, people, good times, and all kinds of random things about life. The thing I appreciate about both of these guys is that in conversation they often times challenge my thinking or provide a new perspective and even if we disagree, that’s fine, we’re still good buddies.
I had James and Charles both in the studio and we had a good time talking about Charles’ new found obsession with whitetail hunting and his journey as a hunter in general. We talked about the hunting experience and what it is and/or isn’t to each of us and how that evolves. We shared a lot of laughs about all the things we used to believe or held to be true. If you take nothing else from this wide-ranging podcast, it’s probable that there are far more things in common between a UC Berkely Ecologist and an Eastern Oregon rancher than you thought.
