Reign Supreme Alway: Sports in Clemson

Ep. 41: Clemson 31, Louisville 16 | Tigers bounce back | Men’s soccer update

Listen Later

Hey Clemson Family, the Tigers had a successful effort to control the game and defeat Louisville on Saturday, 31-16, check out the reasons Clemson improved its showings on offense and on defense despite some key talents missing the game because of injury. On defense, linebacker Barrett Carter was among the players who stepped up even as he moved to a new position; Carter had a pretty play hurdling a would-be blocker on his way to 8.5 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and a prominent interception. Wade Woodaz and nickel defensive backs including Andrew Mukuba filled the resulting gap ably as well. On offense, Will Shipley and Antonio Williams continue to power the attack while Phil Mafah emerged with perhaps his most complete form yet to lead the team in rushing. Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei capably handled Louisville’s pressure. Find out how it all fit together and more with longtime sports journalists Daniel Shirley and Bill Zimmerman, both Clemson graduates, revisiting and analyzing the game. Plus: Clemson men’s soccer played well enough in the ACC tournament to earn a first-round bye in the NCAA tourney, hear what’s been going well for them and who they might face. We’re glad you found us!
