Are we living life in golden handcuffs?
This term Golden Handcuffs, when I originally heard it, referred to an employer paying its employees a salary just big enough to keep them from quitting, but not as much as they were worth.
Today I want to apply this concept to whether WE may be handcuffing ourselves to a life less than we desire, less than we are worthy AND capable of, by the thoughts we’re thinking, or not thinking.
It all starts with our thoughts and we create from there.
Often immediate gratification is easier for our brain to grasp and want, rather than the better outcome when we resist the temptation to indulge in the now.
For example; I desire something and that something requires certain action from me… but my brain wants the golden handcuff instead.
How to know if what our brain wants now is a golden handcuff?
Don’t make it habit.
Final point is handcuffs keep us from progressing, growing, and being our best self, having our best life possible…. As well as CONTRIBUTING to society in a way that only we can.
