Although Sandro Botticelli mustn’t’ve been cool enough to have a Ninja Turtle named after him, he certainly was one of the most influential old masters of the Italian Renaissance. Not only was he one of the painters that participated in decorating the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican; he was also a key influence behind Neo-Platonism in the arts during his lifetime, as well as one of the artists whose legacy contributed to the creation of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in the late 19th century.
