In 1917, a young Polish Franciscan met with several of his friends and founded an organization dedicated “to win the entire world for the Immaculate and, through her, for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.” That friar’s name was St. Maximilian Kolbe, and the organization he founded was the Militia of the Immaculata.
