Hey Hey SLPs! Have you ever tried to collaborate with a colleague and it got off to a rocky start? Wondering how to start implementing collaborative services, but not sure how to approach staff with some ideas? In this episode, you will hear 3 tips for how to build collaborative relationships with colleagues that are successful. Tip: If you are wondering what collaborative services are, listen to episode 41. In this episode you’ll hear:
- How to approach the staff member when they have a minute to actually think and be present with you.
- How to define the roles of the collaboration and how you will communicate
- Don’t try to force your way into the classroom. Build trust. It’s not always a great time to want to implement something new…..when the teacher gets a bunch of new students, staff aids are always out, etc.
