"We have to stop underestimating people!"In the next episode I chat to Julie who talks me through her pregnancy & the birth of her son, Ricky. Julie has cerebral palsy as does her husband David and together embarked on the journey into parenthood with a solid plan in place.She discusses how she commenced her preparation for pregnancy two years prior to concieveing. She focused on being physically strong, creating a strong team around her and also has an exceptional family unit to support them.Julie built a trusting relationship with her obstetrician and with her support, decided to opt for an C-section to bring Ricky into the world. Overall her experience was positive but throughout her story it's starkly obvious there are gaps with regard to women in Ireland giving birth with physical disability.Thanks for sharing your story JulieEnjoy!
