  • Prefer on H1 tag per page
  • Should closely related to your meta title tag
  • Avoid H1 in logo
  • Be Consistent Across Devices (Same H1 tag in Mobile and Desktop)
  • Be Careful with site wide heading hierarchy (H1 then H2 then h3 then h4 then h5 then h6)
  • Don’t Over Optimized with same keywords across all head tags
  • Acquiring Featured snippets (heading tags can help in acquiring featured snippets)
  • Chrome Extension for Heading tag checker - SEO Meta 1 Click (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/seo%20meta?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon)
  • Accessibility + Readability (User navigate through it so make sure use it properly)


    • Fixing
    • fixing site overall is best practice (For example wordpress post page we can fix whole sites at once)
    • try to fix those pages first with less traffic then go for higher traffic pages
    • don’t fix all pages at once go 1 to 1
