Today we're headed back to a great era of Big XII football for a top 10 matchup between #1 Texas and #7 Texas Tech played on November 1, 2008.
The Longhorns, led by Colt McCoy, were on the back end of a four-game stretch against top 11 teams and had to travel to Lubbock. The Red Raiders were putting together one of the great offensive seasons of all-time under Mike Leach thanks to Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree.
You won't find many atmospheres more electric than the west Texas crowd inside Jones AT&T Stadium that night. It was Texas Tech's opportunity to move into the national championship conversation officially and College Gameday was on hand for the first time.
