Ever wonder why you 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡? 🀔 Dr. Simmons is here to explain!  It's not just about “emotional stress” but rather physiologic stress; it could be your 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞! 🫁

✅ 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐊, both clenching and grinding, is often a sign of an airway issue! 😮‍💚

✅ It can be a 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐭𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 during sleep! 🛌

✅ There are 𝐭𝐰𝐚 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐟 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐊: tonic and phasic 💪

✅ 𝐇𝐚𝐊𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 can miss the real issues; an in-lab study with a PES might be needed! 🧪

✅ Even kids can brux to help their airway, sometimes caused by 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬! 😬

✅ 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 can improve bruxism, but watch out for night guards that can make it worse! 🪲

✅ If your dentist sees dental wear, you might be a bruxer, even if you don't know it! More 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬, 𝐬𝐲𝐊𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐊𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 are also discussed🊷
