Join Stephanie Tolk and I as we discuss:

Worldschooling

Sustainable travel

Long-term family travel

Stephanie Tolk has lived, worked, backpacked, honeymooned, and volunteered in nearly 50 countries on five continents. However, she values the quality of her experiences abroad over the number of countries she’s visited. Stephanie has pounded millet into flour in Mali, faced a cobra in Sri Lanka, sailed on the Nile River, roadtripped in Turkey, and lived with Hmong people in Vietnam. She's spent almost five years of her life abroad and speaks Bambara along with a smattering of Dutch, Spanish, and French.

Currently worldschooling, Stephanie and her husband have brought their daughters to 15 countries and counting. Having experienced firsthand the transformative power of cultural immersion, she strives to provide that for her daughters and other worldschoolers.

Through her business, Deliberate Detour, Stephanie supports traveling families in making their dreams come true through coaching, working groups, and online courses. Stephanie infuses social and environmentally sustainable travel tenets into all of her work with learners and clients, encouraging worldschoolers to immerse into cultures ethically for optimal impact for locals and travelers alike.
