Shuraim Basir is one of the co-founders of Randomly Relatable, Singapore’s #1 youth podcast. We discuss his experiences growing up raised by a single parent, and the impact it had on him emotionally. We also talk about the process of starting and growing Randomly Relatable; staying resilient despite criticism and pressure, the mindset behind the hustle, and the vision and mission of the platform – to provide youth with a safe space to voice their opinions without judgement. What struck me most was a line Shuraim said: “The message we want to put out is: We don’t always have to agree, but at the very least, we listen and respect each other”.
