Ep. 45 How You Think About Money Matters
I don't know about you guys but when I was a kid, talking about money wasn't something we did a lot of in my family. Money wasn't ever a focus, and since that was my up bringing, that mindset followed me through my teenage years and even into my 20's.
I heard something the other day that really struck me. It was on TikTok and this entrepreneur (who is also a dad) said, "You can be a better dad if your rich."
At first, I was like that isn't true. I am not rich and I consider myself to be a great dad. I love my kids and would do anything for them.
But then, the more I thought about this concept the more I realized that this thought process is actually true (in my eyes anyways). Not saying you're a bad parent if you don't have money, but the possibilities and opportunities you have as a parent WITH MONEY grows substantially.
The bottom line is, in my upbringing money was never a focus and it shows and like I said earlier, that followed me the majority of my life. I don't want the same things for my kids. I want my kids to prioritize making money SO THAT they can do more with their lives and for others.
I go more into this mindset in today's episode. I hope you hear my heart. I hope this episode brings you value and gives you the motivation to start living life with purpose, meaning and intention. Money isn't bad. The only thing that makes money "bad" is when people want it just to make themselves look better. So, with the right intentions and mindset, don't feel bad for wanting to make more money or put yourself in a position to do so.
