Ep 46. Will Berkman - Basic Training Need To Know's

EP 46 OF THE MACABOLIC PODCAST ON ITUNES. (available in maybe 6 hours) These days most of my coaching is done online, as a sports nutritionist and therefore exclusively diet-related. But despite the coaching I do being diet-centric I tend to get a lot of training questions from clients. 'How should I train', or 'I do this, then that, is this good for this goal?' Of course training and nutrition goes hand-in-hand, so these questions are certainly valid and expected. As I get these questions reasonmably often I figured I'd record a podcast addressing this topic on a basic 'need to know' basis. What is training, what is the goal of training, what training aims/ should achieve, how to make decisions surrounding training including type, and how to do it in the real world from scratch effectively. Despite leaning further and further towards the diet side of things I am still a PT doing a reasonable amount of face to face sessions at Lift Performance Centre in Sydney. I have clients, who I write training programs for, I have at least a respectable understanding of training program principals and if I say so myself I can write a pretty damn good program. But Will Berkman ( @w.berkmanpt ) is the absolute expert and the guy I personally pay $$ to coach me. So in episode 46 of the Macabolic Podcast, I was lucky enough to be joined by a real training programming nerd to cut through the fluff and deliver you the things you should know, and do when it comes to training for basic fat loss, health and muscle growth.
