Let's talk collaboration. Collaboration is so fascinating. It is a topic I have known and loved from when I was helping grow businesses and helping them get sold. I have helped thousands of businesses, and the people doing business really want to collaborate. People who write scripts know how to collaborate. But collaboration is often seen as something that might take something away from you. You create something brand new, really cool, and innovative, and it is hard. It is literally hard. I have told a number of people I have known for years about this thing I created. They say, "That's great. Congratulations." I have had some meetings, some of them good. But one stood out to me and it shocked me. This person had been pursuing me to get on a call and talk about this thing I created. Apparently, they are in this space. I have known this person in the transformation industry for quite a number of years. He said, "I am so excited for you. I would love to see it." But in the last five minutes of the conversation, he said, "You know what? I am going to create something just like this." And I thought, are you kidding me? I thought this was collaboration. I thought this was an opportunity to do something together that would lift others up. This thing I created is not about me. My whole business is not about me. It is about how I can help someone, maybe you, get out of your own way, get unstuck, have your energy flowing, and have your money and prosperity moving in your direction so you can achieve greater success and rewards. As I lift others up, I am lifted up. But it cannot be about me. It is in giving that we receive. Collaboration in the transformation world is rare. It is shocking that it is rare. You would think people would truly want to collaborate and find a way to lift others up together. I was at an event recently for screenplays and books, and those people truly make sure they collaborate so they can flourish. They collaborate and repeat the process. That is how true business is done. That is how I grew up in business. You find a way to raise others' boats because it will raise yours. So where are you competing instead of collaborating? Where are you playing the "me, me" game? Look at me. Look how cool I am. Look how cool this is. That is not collaboration. Even Elon Musk gives a lot of his intellectual property away in order to encourage collaboration. So where are you choosing competition over collaboration? We do better when we collaborate. We do better when we truly negotiate and find a way forward that benefits each of us in our own unique way. Where are you competing in a way that is actually keeping you from your desired goal? Most people do not realize that collaboration gets you closer to your goal faster than competing. Competing is hard. Collaboration is fun. It is easy. It is beautiful. It is synergy. It is co-creation. It is nature. Trees collaborate for air, earth, and water. I have a tree in my front yard that is collaborating under the grass in order to grow. That is collaboration.
