Last week we had to say goodbye to Leonard Cohen, this week – we bid farewell to Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. It seems like each year we say goodbye to the greats nearing the holiday season… It prompted me to think about my past within this industry – and about celebrating the present.
So today I’m looking at some of the things that I’ve done InRetrospect – we’ll take a look at some of the artists I’ve done interviews within the past, before my official radio days – and I’ll play some of my favorite songs from that timeframe. And later, we visit an interview with singer/songwriter, James Keelaghan – one of the greatest Canadian storytellers I’ve had the pleasure of talking to…
Plus, later in the show, it's – “That’s so Culinary!" Join us as Chef Daniele Palanca shares on how best to impress your guests – with a great American Thanksgiving dinner.
It’s life, music, talk – all grown up – click on the show link above to go to the show!

A Retro-spective: Celebrating Artists of My Past and Present
So maybe something you didn’t know about me: Before doing this show, I was editor and publisher of InRetro Magazine, and as well launched a web radio station called InRetro Radio. It was a great ride and I had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people along the way.
During this segment, I talk about some of the artists I featured in my both my publication and shows over the years – beginning with Jill Barber, Divine Brown, The Archers, Diane Panton, Poor Angus, and Annabelle Chvostek.

The Music and Storytelling of James Keelaghan: An Interview
This segment begins with the song, Cold Missouri Waters, written and recorded by Canadian singer/songwriter James Keelaghan. It’s a real-life story put to music and lyrics about the Mann Gulch fire of 1949. A team of firefighters parachuted in near the upper Missouri River, where a fire blazed a mountainside forest in Montana. As the team approached the fire, the winds changed suddenly; and the fire expanded just as fast – It would claim the lives of 13 firefighters. Sounds a lot like what happened in 2013 with The Yarnell Hill Fire in, Arizona, which killed 19 firefighters, members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
Singer/Songwriter, James Keelaghan
About James
James Keelaghan has been credited as being one of the finest singer-songwriters in Canada. His masterful storytelling has, over the course of nine recordings, been part of the bedrock of his success, earning Keelaghan nominations and awards - including a Juno Award - and acclaim from Australia to Scandinavia.
Canadian folk singer, David Francey once said that “James Keelaghan is a voice in contemporary Canadian songwriting that has helped us define who we are as a people.”
