Ep 473: Instead of Affirmations

Listen Later

Hey, everyone. Sheevaun here driving for your success and this topic. I don't know if it ever really gets covered anywhere. I've not seen it. Maybe it does. Um, but I was reading something the other day on my ex profile and the comments in the thread, and yes, I am staying on there. Um, I'm not gonna opt out of something that could be useful to me and me helping more people. That just seems contraindicated and given where the world is, I think we just need to stay in a place of love and acceptance. However, my topic today is about how you, you want to change something that maybe you're doing and you don't even know you're doing it. So if you use affirmations, like I was reading that L Friedman, the Amazing podcaster does, uh, some ritual every morning with affirmations, and that's cool for him. That's really cool for him. And he has a very different set of rules and things that he's been living by and working from, but most people have something that stops them even more, and it's not expecting things to work out. So most people can do affirmations, but most people like lacks who do affirmations, they expect things to work out. Uh, the moral majority of people all over who've had any difficulty actually expect things to not work out for them. And their habit and their muscle system around not having things work out for them, and those expectations is, let's just say it's so low that, well, if it doesn't happen, then I won't be disappointed. And that I hear from folks a lot. So if you think about your own expectations, do you expect the best? Do you expect things to work out for you? Do you expect that good will come to you? Do you expect to find a solution, find an answer, find a way through to find an opportunity? Do you expect what could work as opposed to expecting things to fail? That's the big question for you today, and I think it's something that you probably want to apply every day. There's something that I have posted on a little note, um, on my desk, and it's about a reminder. It's not an affirmation. It's a reminder to stay true to that idea. And so what I'm suggesting right here, right now is put a post-it note that you get to see every day, whether it's on your mirror, in your car, on your mirror. I had some clients a bunch of years ago, Uh, take this idea and they plastered their rear view mirror with these, uh, with these post-it notes. And it's cute. I'll find the picture someday. I think it's actually on my blog. And the idea of expectation is I expect good things. I expect the best. I expect more than I have expected before. Those kind of things at least get you moving in the right direction. And then start thinking about how you are not expecting things to work out for you and clean that up. I have a system in my school where we teach you how to clean that up, but if you already know how to clean that up and turn that around, then do it. If you don't, then reach out and we'll give you some tools. But for now, expect the best. I expect that you'll get super big value from this and do good things out in the world, and I expect that really wonderous things can occur for you if you allow them. My name is Sheevaun Moran.
