Commissioner Statler is a former president of the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas and a former member of the Texas Association of Counties' Board of Directors. He has a radio and television background and still pursues his passion for broadcasting by announcing local football, basketball and baseball games – something he's been doing for more than 40 years.
