CLP View:

The Journey of a Leader is not the way most people think it is, the thought is; that it’s all exciting and in the Spot Light. When the reality is that much of the Time is spent working and dealing with issues and different types personalities. Everyone desires to be in the SPOT light…to sharing their “insights and infinite WISDOM”. And, yes every great LEADER has time in THE SPOT light…but when take a closer look at the Life of a LEADER, the SPOT light is a small part of a LEADER life.

Every project has a Process

1.The Purpose/The Problem for the inspiration

2.Writing/Visualizing the idea

3.Figure how much work the team will have to do and do we have the capabilities

4.Set timelines for completions of certain task/Scheduling

5.Set up how the team will keep everyone on task

6.Began to work and Document the process; to ensure duplication

7.Test Run

8.Identify problems and how and who will fix them.

9.Launch

10.Identify problems and make adjustment

11.See the vision work

And this looks different for every leader and organization, but the general idea of having a plan is important.

CLP tip for each team member to be aware of:

1.The goal of a team member is to add the chances for SUCCESS

2.To be aware of the team's resources and capabilities

3.To work with-in one's limits

4.To know your role and the roles of the other Team Members

2 types of Team Members

1. A person who offers ideas from a “Hire a Pro” mind-set:

1.(Mind Set) in the sense that the person has just thought about the IDEA and how great  it will be.

2.Disregard how much work and people the IDEA will need.

3.Expect the person hearing the IDEA; to oversee/coordinate the personal and take  responsibility for the IDEA.

4.Offers Ideas that relate to small tweaks that required lots of works

5.Can’t execute IDEA with-out using the Leaders resources and influence

6.Doesn’t find smaller issues that better relate to their skillset and limitations

A HIRE A PRO mentality is not good quality and if you show signs of this, theirs a good chance no-one will tell you.

2. A person who offers ideas from an “I’ll Do” willingness:

1.Has great IDEAS and is aware of the work required to execute

2.Will figure out beforehand how much of the work they can do themselves, and ask for  direction in the areas they need help with; with a willingness to learn and do

3.Willing to do what is asked of them; Wait/Write-out a plan/Continue to focus on your  task

4.No, or Not now; should be seen as a time to better prepare a pitch and Make a Plan

5.Don’t just think IDEA, but see if there is something else that needs attention and offer  to fix that, execute small fixes that add to the teams' success and you’ll get your  chance to be heard

As a leader, we understand how much work it took to gain respect and influence. And as LEADERS we know if it wasn’t for the work and focus we would not be where we are, this is why it's important to lead by experience.

A I’ll DO willingness is a good characteristic when becoming a LEADER. This “I will” approach will make you valuable to any team and will give opportunities to share your IDEAS.
