Attending a U.S. university is an exciting prospect for new international students. But as you embark on a new chapter as an international student abroad, you must make some adjustments. Fahria Tasneem is an enthusiastic MBA candidate at Hofstra University with extensive experience in project management and marketing across various industries, including private and development sectors. Originally from Bangladesh, she came to the United States to pursue postgraduate studies and further her professional journey. She has a strong passion for advocating for social change and believes that business can be a force for good. She is dedicated to using her skills and knowledge to drive positive social impact.
With a passion for empowering women in business, she currently serves as the President of Zarb Women in Business, where she leads efforts to support and inspire the next generation of female business leaders. In addition to this role, she also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the Hofstra Journal of International Business and Law, where she showcases her expertise in business and writing.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and a keen ability to manage complex projects and marketing campaigns. She has a deep understanding of the nuances of marketing, combined with a strategic approach, and this has helped her consistently deliver outstanding results for her clients.
In this episode, she discusses the challenges international students face when studying abroad from homelessness, lack of financial security, cultural differences, and language barriers to mental health issues.
