As Matt wraps up his Ulysses S. Grant biography, Laura insisted on the movie about "you know, when Simba was leading the first black soldiers." 

The film holds up in some ways, but there are a few awkward "Pocahontas" moments. 

Still, the soundtrack is outstanding, the cinematography compelling, and the battle scenes epic.
