Listen Later

My friend Matthew DeLuca a fourth-year student in Emergency Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and Organizational Leadership joins the podcast to chat about:

Emotional Intelligence- What is it and what does it actually mean?  How it relates to mental health. How his research is correlating emotional intelligence scores to burnout and moral injury among medical residency students. And why this data is crucial to providing wellness interventions to prevent suicide, depression, and burnout.

We also get to chat about his hockey experience as an NCAA Athlete, Athlete Identity,
Mental Toughness in sports and how it translates to medicine and career.

His experience of being a student in clinical rotations in Brooklyn throughout COVID, what he learned, and what helped him get through.
