This is a special edition of the hammer podcast. 50 on 50! In this episode, Pastor Mike dives into the Reign of Christ in the three primary millennial views.
To begin, we talk about the unnecessary “cheap shots” the different views may make toward each other.
How does the character and nature of God affect our view of his Reign? “Reign” is not an attribute of God. But what are the necessary implications of his sovereignty, providence, omnipotence, omniscience…etc? Is there a time when God is not reigning?
But Satan is the prince of the power of the air, right? However, Proverbs 8:15 says, “by me, kings reign.” What does this tell us about God’s authority?
What about Philippians 2:5-11 and the emptying of Jesus? Does this change how we view God’s reign?
Now as it pertains to Christ’s reign in the millennial views, Mike makes the case for understanding that as a sort of “Sub-Reign.” The various millennial views then differ on the timing of this reign, rather than the permanency of his reign.
How does all of this work into our understanding of the eternal subordination of the Son?
What is the effect of Sin and its presence to the Reign of Christ? What is the importance of the Millennial Reign of Christ?
The inquisition: Al Molher talked about the active totalitarians being seen in Hong Kong today, how does that differ from the alleged totalitarianism of Donald Trump?
Tune in today! We discuss these questions and more.
