Alfy Bordallo is a photographer from California and Guam. Alfy shares his memories of growing up on Guam and the beauty of the trees and beaches. He speaks on rejecting his American background for feeling too “stateside” before realizing the value in having multiple perspectives. Alfy recalls the story of buying his first film camera on Craigslist and falling in love with the medium. He discusses the value in both photography for creative expression as well as for documentation purposes. Alfy also describes the importance of getting comfortable with who you are shooting, treating them like a person and helping to build their confidence.
