This episode isn't just about ice. It's about what holds a community together. After Team USA's golden moment at the Winter Olympics with figure skating and both the women's and men's hockey teams standing on top of the podium, we're reminded of something simple: every Olympian once started at a local rink. Learning to skate. Falling. Getting back up. Dreaming big. For decades, the Dorothy Hamill Ice Rink in Byram has been that place for Greenwich families. Over the past nine months, a nine-member volunteer Task Force met weekly reviewing environmental reports, analyzing nearly 200 town parcels, commissioning professional cost estimates, studying flood maps, evaluating long-term energy sustainability, and holding multiple public hearings -all to determine the best path forward for our town. Their final recommendation has now been submitted. In this episode, Matt DesChamps, Chair of the Hamill Rink Task Force, talks about the work behind the recommendation and what comes next for Greenwich. https://www.greenwichct.gov/2807/Hamill-Rink-Task-Force
