This is the most IMPORTANT message I will ever share with you! Is your lamp lit? Do you have extra oil? Jesus wants us to be ready. Today we learn why.
I have been studying the Parable of the 10 Virgins for days and I am most excited about this message. God has been leading us to this very message over the past 51 messages! Let's dig in!
In Matthew Chapter 24 & 25 Jesus is talking to the Jewish people about what will happen to Israel in the End Times. THEN he begins talking to them as believers.
Jesus knew that the Jewish people would deny him and his coming as the Messiah. He knew it would take them 2,000 years to finally become a nation again, just like he knows they will accept the AntiChrist during the seven years of Jacob’s Trouble.
When that day comes the AntiChrist sets himself in the 3rd Temple to be worshiped as God. He has told them in Matthew 24 to FLEE to the mountains; don’t go home and grab your things… RUN as fast as you can and God will protect them.
He then moves on to tell the believers in Christ (aka the Christians) that when we see the Fig Tree (Israel) grow and become a nation again, the generation that is alive in that day will surely not pass before all that he said above comes to pass.
Matthew 24:32-35
“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
In Psalm 90 we learn that a generation is 70 years; 80 years if strong. Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948; making Israel 72 years, 4 months and 29 days old.
We are in the last days, my brothers & sisters! If not the last days, the last hours and minutes.
Let's see Jesus' wise a beautiful warning for the future church by diving into the Parable of the 10 Virgins!
Matthew 24:1-13 | The Parable of the Ten Virgins
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
This is a story of being ready for the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ who will come at a time we don’t know.
Of all the major events, the Rapture of the Church does not have a time or date. The main reason for this is to surprise the Enemy. Let’s break down the parable so we can better understand the major significance and imminent importance of this parable and its warning to us, the Christians.
We do not when Jesus is coming back for his church. And there is a GOOD reason for this. It is the one major event that the Bible talks about that doesn’t have a date.
Jesus’ first coming had a date...The Temple's Destruction had a date...We even know that the time of Jacob’s trouble will be for 7 years!BUT the Rapture of the Church has no date… why?
When you don’t know when something is going to happen y
