This week Kelly brings Sam a case that has been cold for 30 years. When Christine Belusko's body was found her murder had been so brutal that she was only identifiable by a scorpion that had been tattooed on her butt cheek. Unfortunately, that was all the investigators knew in 1991. District Attorney Michael E. McMahon announced in 2021 that investigative work combined with forensic genealogy solved the identification of Christine's body. She was no longer a Jane Doe or "The Girl with the Scorpion Tattoo". They worked the case doggedly until they discovered Christine's biological family...and learned that her daughter Christa was missing as well. In 1991 she was just 2 years old.
