They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. I think there is truth in that statement. To be truly vulnerable with someone is to be able to look them in the eye when talking to them. It is inviting someone into your soul. Them seeing through the looking glass, the looking glass of yourself. There is no being yourself, no true friends, without being able to look them in the eye while talking to them. Or, anyone for that matter. That is to say, there are no true friends, no being yourself, without offering up your soul. Being afraid of this reflects more about yourself than the world around you.
Maybe this is some advice I need.
