This week's podcast is from a quote from Dr John Deloney who has a YouTube channel and often works wuth the American finance advice Dave Ramsey.
He talks about 'don't forget to remember'
Meaning thinking about how great we feel when we take positive action like work on our creative projects, take positive steps towards our goals, go to the gym, pick up your guitar, write that finance proposal for your next show. When we take positive action we feel much better after even if we did not want to initially go to the gym in the rain or practise when we could have just stayed in and watched Netflix.
Also the flip side is don't forget to remember how bad we feel when we do things that don't align with our goals ad dreams, whether it is a lack of action such as no gym or no working on your novel or script or whether it is choosing to slump in front of the TV or getting lost in hours of YouTube instead of taking time out to honour your dreams.
Thinking both before we take action and after we have or have not done something that 'don't forget to remember' means we can slowly align ourselves and our wishes against actions.
Change for all of us is a hard process so thoughts that break our behaviours and make us think before we do what we are about to do.
Don't make yourself feel guilty or worse, but it is worth playing with that phrase and seeing if it helps you move forward towards your goal.
