Ep. 55 Learning Disability’s Influence on Identity with Michelle Steiner

Listen Later

Michelle was ostracized by her peers and held back in kindergarten. She struggled with learning, understanding, physical coordination and social interaction. Luckily, she was diagnosed with learning differences and got lots of needed support. But that didn’t stop kids and others from treating her as dumb, and she internalized that identity. And, ambition didn’t let her stop chasing her dreams.

Hear how Michelle learned how to compensate with a disability. Find out how she moved away from believing she was equivalent to how she was perceived and treated to land in a place of self-love and acceptance. What were the needle movers? And, how does she deal with not being the person she might have been, if she didn’t have this condition?
