Text & Translation –
Latin - Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia; Quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia, Resurrexit, sicut dixit, alleluia: Ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia.
English - Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia. The Son you merited to bear, alleluia, Has risen as he said, alleluia. Pray to God for us, alleluia.
Musical Musings
- #chantnerdterm revisited: Simple (easier for the congregation to sing, this composition will be more syllabic/neumatic) vs. Solemn tone (more elaborate and melismatic – not as congregation-friendly)
Liturgical Living
Since Easter lasts for 8 days, even those who refrain from meat on Fridays outside the Lenten season can still partake in red meat this Friday, because it’s still Easter!
What other ways do you celebrate?
