This is Episode 55 of Poems for the Speed of Life. Today's poem is "Things to live for when the world seems hopeless", by Nikita Gill.
Nikita Gill is a British-Indian poet who has won a large and loyal audience in recent years through her use of social media.

This poem is a brand new work. It was published in February 2023 on Instagram and Twitter and was introduced by the poet as follows:
"My anxiety and depression have absolutely had me in a chokehold these last few weeks so I’m just going to leave this up for anyone else struggling. Being present is incredibly hard when depression is keeping you in the past while anxiety stresses about the future. I hope you find the small thing that anchors you to now. And if you can’t, that’s okay too. Be kind and easy on yourself."
