Emily’s bio:

I am a Denver poet, mother, teacher and lover of words. I am privileged to have a longstanding relationship with the Mercury Cafe as a host of the Friday Night Open Mic and member of the poetry community. The Mercury Cafe is a magical and wonderful place to be. I have also poet-ed elsewhere, with students and with a Boulder group called Word By Word Journeys. Through that work I have come to believe and cherish the fact that poetry is for everyone. The latest adventure for me has been starting a full moon open mic which is a clothing-optional open mic about radical self acceptance and building community. I also have a transcendent love for comedy, which is also new. Aren’t life and it’s surprises amazing!
