Today we talk about having integrity in Hollywood, doing what’s right as a brand, and earning business over and over again.
Welcome back to the 59th episode of the Hard Thing Podcast.

Now to the show.
Today I share my conversation with award winning director, writer, producer and author, Fred Ashman, who can be reached at https://www.fredashman.com/#/ where you can pick up his book, Advocate for the Audience.
We start the show talking about how Fred entered the film industry. He shares his experience where he goes to pitch a show, however he only gets one interested offer, and the offer is well below what he knows the show is worth. He keeps his integrity, and refuses the offer.
That refusal sends Fred in a different direction than mainstream Hollywood. Instead, Fred goes into the corporate film industry, making long-form films for large corporations such as American Airlines and more.
I found talking with Fred insightful, especially from a branding perspective. Fred has an amazing sense of what makes a great brand, what brings you and the client closer in alignment, and what keeps business coming back to you.
It was a great show, and at the end, Fred left some action items for us to do:
