Kate Starbird was an All-American at Stanford and the 1997 NCAA women’s player of the year before going pro. Today she is a computer scientist at Washington State University who studies how information-communication technologies are used during crisis events. She talks to Richard and Donnovan about how real “fake news” — ­disinformation and misinformation — originates and what it means when combatting the coronavirus.



Myron Rolle played safety at Florida State, where he was the ACC defensive rookie of the year and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship. After a brief NFL career with the Titans and Steelers, he went back to school. Today he is a neurosurgery resident at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. He speaks with Donnovan about turning Mass General into a COVID-19 care unit, the front lines in Boston and lessons learned on the football field that he’s using during the pandemic.
