On this episode of Built on Strategy, I'm joined by Georgia Department of Education Deputy Superintendent Caitlin McMunn Dooley to discuss COVID-19's impact on children in and outside the classroom. We look at the challenges of navigating technologically enhanced curricula, the process of evolving compliance systems into cultural change strategies, and how we can all better prepare our children for change.

Caitlin McMunn Dooley, Ph.D. has nearly 30 years of education experience. Dooley earned her doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Virginia. In 2015, she accepted an appointment with the Georgia Department of Education and leads a team focused on curricula, instruction, research, innovative programs, and teacher and leader support and development.
Under Dooley's leadership, the Georgia Department of Education has been awarded competitive support totaling $280M+ funded by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Education, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and university and foundation partners. A former Fulbright Scholar, Dooley's 50+ publications have been released in national and international refereed journals and chapters. She is a Board Chair for the U.S. Institutes of Education's Regional Education Lab - Southeast and past co-editor for the National Council of Teachers of English premier journal, Language Arts (2011-2016).
