We really love Orphan Black, and we think more people should watch it. We've kept spoilers to a minimum (early season 1 only). Jeff and I are joined this week with our special guest panelist, Taryn Cheal, and we spend the first segment singing the praises of the show, from it's deft world-building techniques, to engaging procedural elements, to making very believable clone interactions on a small(er) television budget. We roundly agree that Tatiana Maslany deserves all the awards, including special ones that we create for her.
In the second half of the show, we talk various times when actors play different roles in the same production, including favourites like Mrs. Winterbourne, The Parent Trap, and Dave. Lauren is weirdly passionate about all three of these movies. We also talk about a couple of classic examples from television comedies; where Jeff finds a way to talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe in relation to Friends, so be sure to listen for that little gem. We also discuss when and how dual casting works in theatre, and as is our wont, we talk Sondheim, Wicked, and Hamilton.
